Tullibardine The Murray The Marquess Collection Marsala Finish

The Tullibardine Marquess Collection celebrates their heritage and strong link with the hamlet of Tullibardine. There have been many famous figures bearing the title of the Marquess of Tullibardine for centuries. Sir William Murray was the 2nd Marquess of Tullibardine, who fought in the first Jacobite rebellion at the battle of Sherriffmuir in 1715. In 1745 he was chosen by Bonnie Prince Charlie to unfurl the Royal Standard at Glenfinnan, announcing the Prince as the rightful King of Scotland. This is a classic Tullibardine that has spent all of its life in 1st fill bourbon barrels. This edition has been re-casked into Marsala casks for a further period of maturation. Distilled in 2006 and bottles in 2018. The distillery describe it as: Subtly spiced oak aromas combine with fragrant floral meadows, revealing a glorious combination of summer berries drizzled with vanilla ice cream. Luscious flavours of strawberry jam with hints of black coffee and dried spice gracefully evolve with creamy toffee, malt biscuits and fresh blackcurrants coming to the fore. Milk chocolate and delicate orange flavours linger gently on the tongue to finish.

Misty Isle Gin Mulled Christmas Gin

Misty Isle Gin is the only gin made on the Isle of Skye, by the Wilson brothers, Thomas and Alastair. All of the gin is made locally in Portree and the brothers say the bottle shape represents the elements if the Isle of Skye with each bottle being unique and different. They also tell us 'Our juniper berries are hand foraged from various wild locations around Skye. Our Juniper is then slowly distilled in traditional gas fired copper pot stills for approximately 8 hours, then vapour infused with our botanicals.'

For this special Christmas edition they use the standard 11 botanicals plus:  juniper, cassia bark, orange, lemon, star anise, Tonia beans and a pinch of liquorice root are all soaked in the rich, Italian Amarone red wine prior to distilling. Our Mulled Gin, therefore, has the same flavour profile as a delicious mulled wine combined with a generous juniper hit.

Recommend Serve: A Scottish tonic water , orange or cinnamon.

Well worth the wait, this seasonal gin brings together all the traditional festive flavours that you would associate with a mulled wine.
